EzWebex brings your Webex work into Codex.
Search collaboration history, prepare for meetings, and create a personal Webex bot that can take on approved work while you stay in control of what gets posted back.
What It Does
Find the Right Messages
Search Webex spaces, threads, files, and recent conversations from inside Codex.
Prepare for Meetings
Pull together meetings, participants, summaries, recordings, and transcripts when available.
Answer with Context
Use Webex and knowledge-page context to draft answers with useful source links.
Keep Control
Sign in through the browser and keep credentials local to your Codex environment.
Create a Digital Twin
Create your own Webex bot identity, route requests into a private queue, and approve replies before EzWebex posts back.
Install
Use the GitHub marketplace path first. The ZIP is available for machines where Codex cannot reach the private GitHub marketplace.
1. Add the marketplace
codex plugin marketplace add padmanak_cisco/webex-messaging-codex-plugin --ref main
codex plugin marketplace upgrade
This path only works if your GitHub account has access to the private source repository. If it fails, skip to the ZIP download.
2. Install the plugin
In Codex, open /plugins, choose Webex Codex Plugins, and install EzWebex.
3. Sign in
Start a fresh Codex thread and tag @ezwebex. Codex opens Webex sign-in for Webex tools and Atlassian OAuth for Confluence tools when each source is first used.
Update later
If you already installed the plugin from the marketplace, refresh it with:
codex plugin marketplace upgrade webex-codex-plugins
Then open a fresh Codex thread and tag @ezwebex so Codex reloads the updated plugin tools and skills.
If GitHub marketplace access is unavailable, download the latest ZIP below and import or reinstall the local plugin bundle from /plugins.
The ZIP is generated from main and cached briefly, so it can take about a minute after a merge before the download reflects the newest changes.
ZIP download
Use the ZIP if marketplace install or upgrade fails with GitHub access errors such as
repository not found, authentication required, 403,
404, or if Webex Codex Plugins does not appear after upgrade.
Download the ZIP anywhere, then open /plugins in Codex and choose the
local plugin bundle import option. If Codex has already detected the downloaded bundle,
select it there; otherwise browse to webex-messaging-codex-plugin.zip from
Downloads or wherever the file was saved.
Create Your EzWebex Digital Twin
Your digital twin is a Webex bot connected to hosted EzDelegate and Desktop Codex. You or teammates can mention it with work; EzWebex creates a task, and the work starts only after you open that task in Codex.
How the Digital Twin Handoff Works
Someone asks your twin
You or anyone in a Webex space with the bot can mention your digital twin with work for your Codex to handle.
Private handoff
EzWebex shows the task in your private queue and hosted Command Center.
Start Codex
Click Open in Codex to launch Desktop Codex with the hosted handoff prompt.
Approve the result
Codex marks the card as actioned, then EzWebex asks you to approve or reject the final reply.
1. Start setup in Codex
Open a fresh Codex thread with EzWebex installed and ask:
@ezwebex set up my personal EzWebex bot
Codex will prepare a suggested bot name, username, and description for the Webex Developer Portal.
2. Create the bot
EzWebex opens the Developer Portal in your visible Chrome session so you can review the form before creating the bot. The Webex bot token is shown once after creation.
Keep the token out of chat and screenshots. EzWebex stores it in the hosted workspace secret store for the shared listener.
3. Verify the listener
Setup creates your private EzWebex Digital Twin Queue space and registers the
hosted listener. To check it later, ask:
@ezwebex show my digital twin status
